Overdue

By Ragged Bizcuit

Materials: mixed media including but not limited to - acrylic paints, pencil, string electrical wire, decoupage, epoxy resin, sculpting paint, quality street wrappers, oil paints, paint pens.

Very mixed media piece as an artist reaction to this year's theme of "revolution". The earth is surrounded in an eternal echo of protest slogans from around the world, the ozone layer is being held up by gravity points situated around the world to add a layer of surrealism. The map of the globe is marked out with big oil, gas and mining industry (minerals and uranium) and large-scale global corporations that have a humongous carbon footprint on the world. “Revolution is as infinitely overdue, as their taxes"

Key:

White dot: mineral mines
Fluorescent green: uranium mines
Red line: oil pipelines
Light blue line: gas pipelines
3D spirals: gravity
Suspended epoxy sheet: damaged ozone layer
